Are you thinking of getting married or have friends who are thinking of doing so?

Come to sunny Cyprus, where our Wedding team will help you every step of the way.

Ayia Kyriaki Church

Ayia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa

Why not consider the lovely old church of Ayia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa, Kato Paphos (the Church by St. Paul’s Pillar), situated in the grounds of an Early Christian Basilica, for the big day?

Most importantly this Church has easy access for wheelchairs and can easily accommodate large wedding parties up to and in excess of one hundred guests.

The Chapel of St. George

Chapel of St. George

Maybe you would wish to get married somewhere more modern, if so, why not think about the Chapel of St. George in the grounds of the St. George Hotel, Chlorakas?

Please note that this chapel has at least a dozen steps to negotiate and is not suitable for wheelchair access and it is not possible to use ramps. There is seating for twenty-four and the Chapel only comfortably accommodates a total of 36 persons (this number includes the primary wedding party).

For those getting married at St. George's Chapel please note that music is normally by CD, if you wish Paul to play there is an extra charge and music will be played on an electronic keyboard.

For those getting married or considering getting married in the Anglican Church of Paphos, the following information may be helpful:

The wedding donation for 2010 is €650 euros, and we would need a non-refundable donation of €325 euros which must be paid within 6 weeks of confirming your booking, otherwise your booking will not become permanent.

An Authorisation of Payment Mandate outlining several ways in which you can action payment, is available from the Church Office.

Please note that you will need to bring the following documents with you as determined by Cyprus Law:

1. Your Passports + photocopies.

2. Original Birth Certificates + photocopies

3. Photocopies of your witnesses’ passports (you require two witnesses) for the Town Hall and ourselves.

4. An affidavit each, confirming that you are free to marry.  A Solicitor or Commissioner of Oaths can draft this, and it must be stamped and signed at the declaration within 12 weeks of your marriage date.

5. If either of you have been divorced, then the ORIGINAL Decree Absolute papers will be needed by the Town Hall.  Also take photocopies for your files.

6. If either of you have become a widow(er), then the deceased’s Death Certificate will also be required.

7. If either of you have changed your name at any time, you will need Deed Poll papers.

8. If you come from Ireland, then you will need Freedom to Marry papers which you can obtain from the Ministry of Interior or Embassy.  This may also apply for non-British Passport holders, so please enquire at your Ministry of Interior, or Embassy, stating Cyprus as the Country you are to be married in.

You will be required to obtain a special licence (First Schedule Type B) giving you permission to marry in Cyprus from Paphos Town Hall, which currently costs €282.  You must be resident in Cyprus at least 3/4 working days before your wedding date.  This should be done as soon as you arrive in Cyprus between 8-30 and 10-00 a.m and you must take all above mentioned documents with you.

Furthermore, please note that the Anglican Church prefers that at least one of you has been baptised into the Christian Faith, and wouldlike you to bring the certificate(s) with you if you have them.  The Chaplain would wish to commend you to your home Church Priest or Minister back in the UK, so please bring his/her name and address with you.

Please call us as soon as you arrive then we can confirm the day and time of interview (if we have not done so already), with the Wedding Vergers, the Chaplain and the Director of Music/Organist (if marrying at Ayia Kyriaki).
